Bear Grylls
July 10, 2008
WTF is this guy on?
Swimming under ice in frozen waters in Siberia – naked just about.
Eating squirrel brains?
Bear Grylls, you are crazy dude. I suppose some might say it’s easy with a safety crew, but the water still looks cold to me.
I salute you Bear Grylls!
Desperate Housewives finale
June 4, 2008
Well, the shocker came….aside from many things being resolved in the final double-bill of Desperate Housewives such as Orson being let back in the house by Brie, the timewarp to 5 years in the future to show Susan with a different guy was quite incredible.
And Carlos/Gabby have a bunch of kids lol.
Can’t wait for the next season, Marc Cherry we salute you for excellent script writing!
TV hard drive crash – data recovery emergency!
April 2, 2008
Aaargh…my TV hard drive crashed. It wouldn’t register in Windows, and no sound could be heard from it when listened closely.
It just seemed dead to the world.
Turns out I need either data recovery software or data recovery service to recover.
So, I tried a couple of trial data recovery programs but they couldn’t even access the TV drive.
More digging and I found I actually had a hardware failure of the hard drive. Could be the pcb or drive head. In any case, I wanted my data recovered asap – the thought of downloading all my TV shows again just depressed me.
I trawled a few data recovery companies / web sites and found 123 Data Recovery to offer a no data recovery / no fee service. Sounds OK to me.
So I shipped off my hard drive for data recovery recovery. Within 2 days, all the data was replaced on a shiney new hard drive ready to plug in. Fantastic, data recovery succesful! It did cost me close to £180 including the new hard drive but what the hell – the data was recovered and my data had made a full recovery (along with my mental state).
Better backup in future! Thanks to 123 data recovery for their service, big thumbs up!
Desperate Housewives – after the tornado
January 10, 2008
Turns out the tornado produced a whole lot of drama
- the kids and Tom were trapped under the house
- Victor Meikland was killed
- Carlos was injured and is now blind
- Carlos and Gaby lost all the details to the secret bank account and are broke
- the new neighbour has a dark dark secret
I am amazed at how beautifully scripted each episode is….and what drama they bring in a believable away (although the note thrown into the fire which did not fully burn wasn’t convincing).
9/10
Desperate Housewives final episode for this year…
December 12, 2007
The last Desperate Housewives episode was nothing short of excellent – Victor is killed, Carlos looses $10M, Tom and the kids are buried under their house after a tornado sweeps through the street.
Can’t wait for the next one…….but it is too long to wait…..next year….aaaaaaargh
Heroes – new season
October 19, 2007
The new season of Heroes pads out as per usual with lots of flips between characters and so forth.
Fortunately by Episode 3 it calms down…..and the plot thickens. Sylar is still alive and new characters are introduced.
But I keep getting the feeling it would be better to watch 2 episodes at a time because of the depth of plot which isn’t fully explained in 1 episode.
Not much TV to review…
July 12, 2007
With the demise of all the top shows over the summer…there’s just isn’t much on.
How Clean is Your House offers the most entertainment lol.
Hopefully have something better to post here when I watch something worth talking about – have given up on The Riches and the Black Donnellys has been cancelled..
Black Donnellys gets axed
June 22, 2007
The best drama series since the Sopranos, The Black Donnellys has been axed.
Excellent acting, excellent script. But it’s been bombed out by NBC.
Sad but true, and it had so far to go. I’m still wondering what happened between the Donnellys and Doakie after the shootout….
My brain on drugs….
June 6, 2007
Aptly named episode of The Riches - Wayne/Doug snorts a big pile of meth-aphetamine in protest against his wife’s drug use.
The episode then trangresses into a real drug crazed episode with sheer lunacy and fish-eye camera shots.
More of a filler episode, it showed Eddie Izzards amazing acting ability.
But please…let’s just get back to the script!
Drive gets the boot
May 23, 2007
‘Drive’ (I’m not even going to link it!) is just plain crap. It reminds me of the cheesey 80s-straight-to-video movies. It has the depth of a gold fish ball only tarted up with clever camera work and production values (which are great).
Sadly this one’s getting the boot!
